- Tulare lake is back in California. It’s a good time to leave it there (and reduce farming acreage)
- Watch the 100th episode of Leo’s rebuild of Tally-Ho (a 111-year old ship) to get some appreciation of the work he did in four (!) years.
- Listen to 98-year old Robert Solow’s wisdom on GDP (“not a measure of well being”), sustainability (“we’ve been drawing down our assets”), and much much more!
- Read/Listen: Darrick Hamilton’s “baby bonds” idea would improve racial and economic equity in the US (and other countries).

- Read/listen to this discussion of Putin’s weaknesses
- Think: The Netherlands is back in drought (the shortage in precipitation is now in the “5% driest years”), and this article (in Dutch) discusses how farmers in Achterhoek (in the higher elevation east) are having problems with their crops. Newsflash: It’s time to give that land back to Nature, to turn a farming liability into an ecosystem asset. I’d say that 30 percent of Dutch farmland should be converted and its livestock industry needs to fall by 70 percent. Bad for short-term profits; good for long-term survival.
